7th Annual Chalk Walk and Art Fest

Join us for this special community three-in-one event on Saturday November 2nd, 2013!

  1. Chalk Walk – Create your own masterpieces! Ages 3 and up! Activities, demonstrations, performances, magic, face painting, music & more! 1pm to 3pm.
    The Chalk Walk is a free event, but tickets are required.
  2. ArtFest Fundraiser – Stunning artwork and crafts done by local artists! All items will be for sale. 10am to 4pm
  3. Hands-on Art Stations – Activities for kids and adults – collage, mural, pottery, beading and more! 10am to 2pm

GBAC “Where is the Pig”?

The Greater Brandon Arts Council is sponsoring the 1st annual GBAC Pigs on Parade, Public Art Project! Sponsors will receive a hand painted ceramic pig to display in place of business. Brandon will have “Pigs on Parade” in businesses all over town! Each pig will be customized, designed and painted with company logo and theme.

2013 Gallery Hop

Circle your calendars! The Greater Brandon Gallery Hop is coming back after a year off!

With six venues, the Hop, also known as “Find the Hidden Treasures of Brandon”, will have tickets/passports available at each venue and Center Place. Visit all 6 venues between 10am and 4pm and be eligible to win a gift basket from one of the venues at the reception at Center Place at 5:30.

Venues include:

  • The Bead Boutique / 704 W Lumsden Rd
  • Beaux Arts Gallery / 11252 Winthrop Main St. (St. Pete Times building) with musical entertainment
  • Green Boutique / 1032 Bloomingdale Ave / Hourly Art demonstrations

This is also the opening reception to the 2013 juried “Artworks” show. This year’s selected art works is exciting and full of variety!

Dear fellow artist/arts advocate:

I am inviting you to join the Arts Council and to participate in our activities, and to be listed at no charge in the GBAC on-line directory. We are dedicated to encourage the arts and artists in our widespread community and to foster and promote as well as coordinate and nurture the arts to flourish in the greater Brandon area through cultural events, education, public awareness and networking. We encourage you to join us in these endeavors.

Membership opportunities are varied including monthly updates and invitations to all GBAC events, reminders of area arts events, and the chance to represent yourself and your talents on your directory page. Corporate and business members can have representation on our website, access to all artists in the community via the online directory, as well as publicity and advertising through GBAC events and free admission to GBAC events. Anyone with an interest in the arts is welcome to submit information for a directory listing. Sponsorship opportunities are available as well with your donations going to operations expenses and planned events as specified by you.

Legal Seminar II Coming!

Dalton_contactCircle your calendar for Saturday October 26th, 2013. GBAC is pleased to announce that Anne Dalton, a lawyer for Ft. Myers, will be returning to hold another legal seminar/workshop for artists of all genres. This seminar will be held at the Bloomindale Regional Public Library starting at 1pm, and will focus on contracts and the artist.

We had a wonderful turnout for her workshop in February, and we expect a full house for this event. Stay tuned for more information!
